  18. I have a Motorola Power 28.8 and it is set to hang up after two rings.
  19. This is done by adjusting the s7 register.  According to the manual
  20. the s7 register is the Pause for Answerback and Carrier Detection/Wait
  21. for Second Dial tone.  The default value is s7=30 (seconds).  I have
  22. mine set to s7=12 so that it hangs up after two rings.  From this the
  23. time between rings is six seconds.  To hang up after nine rings I
  24. would set it to s7=54 or higher.  The range is zero to 255.  Check
  25. your modem manual about this register and a better explaination.
